A solo art exhibition Holdfast: Seaweeds in a Time of Oceanic Change, by artist Jill Powers, Dairy Center for the Arts – March 4 to April 3, 2016, Boulder Colorado. Contemporary art about ocean ecology seen through the fascinating world of seaweed. Jill’s art celebrates the beauty, anatomy, and role of seaweeds in the web of ocean life, along with thought provoking and educational art which explores the challenges to oceans, from global warming to invasive species.

GEOLOGY HIKE- Friday April 1, 2016 4-7 PM See evidence of when Colorado was under the sea- seashells in Colorado! Led by Lon Abbott, CU Boulder, co-author of “Geology Underfoot along Colorado’s Front Range” Maps and seaweed snacks will be available at the art exhibition.
