Book Arts
As a hand papermaking artist, I have long had a love for the book arts. Initially making journals with binding structures that featured papers I had made, I became intrigued with many different binding styles and explored widely. Teaching book arts at Naropa University, and offering innovative book arts workshops expanded my explorations. The work I developed has been in exhibitions curated by 23 Sandy, Alicia Bailey and Karen Kunc. They are in library and museum collections, and often feature kozo bark fiber cast pages and sculptural elements, and laser etching. Silk wall panels accompany some of the books, extending the design of the book to the wall.
