December Studio Classes

Category: Newsletter    —    Nov 17, 10:30 PM

The leaves almost gone and my focus shifts more inward. The studio glows with light and I am immersed in the kozo and wings of my insect installation project. During this season I always like to take a few days and open the studio up for others to come create in this beautiful space.

This season give yourself to the deep satisfaction and joy of creating.  I'm offering a special opportunity to spend time in an inspired space with an intimate class and wonderful materials...

An unusual skin material which is translucent and parchment like. Explore contemporary techniques with this traditional media of the Alaskan eskimo people. Can be a surface for painting, an outer skin for objects, or a sculptural medium on its own.  This class includes a slide lecture on contemporary artists who work with gut. Our source is an inner animal skin. Bring your curiosity, all levels welcome.
